Trond Hille - Houdini Technical Artist / FXTD
With over two decades of experience as a 3D artist, I possess a versatile skill set that blends artistic vision with technical expertise. Specializing in SideFX Houdini, I can take any project from start to delivery, and I enjoy exploring multiple pathways to craft innovative and visually stunning creations. As a hybrid 3D generalist and tech artist, I am passionate about tackling challenges from both creative and technical angles, solving challenges and taking advantage of procedural-ism to deliver both more and exceptional results that captivate audiences.
My skillset is revolved around Houdini FX as my main tool. As a technical artist, or technical generalist, my emphasis is on both solving all kinds of challenges through best use of Houdini's toolset, VEX and/or Python, and also delivering realistic and high quality looking final renders.
As someone who's used to working the full pipeline, I have solid knowledge and experience of every step of both animation and VFX production, including composition in Nuke. Beyond Houdini, I have a background using 3dsMax (generalist), Maya (animator), Unity3D (C# coding, gaming and Microsoft Hololens prototyping).
I have a Houdini FXTD Certification from Rebelway Academy.
I've also co-built a fully remote Studio in the Cloud, set up an internal Open USD pipeline. Along with a fully cloud-based and on-demand render farm using AWS and Thinkbox Deadline.
